Erican Young Learners (EYL) is a programme, specially designed to ensure modern children can excel in English in the most effective and fun way.  The latest methodologies in language acquisition have been included to make sure your child learns in the most positive and productive manner possible, with a high ratio of student-teacher interaction.

EYL classes are divided into two parts. The main class is held live online every Saturday and is taught by Malaysia’s number 1 English teacher, Datuk Eric Chong, affectionately known by his students as Grandpa Eric.  The focus in this class is on writing, reading, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.  Grandpa Eric will personally explain all learning points in a fun and easy-to-understand way

The tutorial class is delivered by Erican’s our experienced and caring teachers and focuses on speaking and listening skills.  Tutorial classes are always dynamic and motivating, they will activate and build upon your child’s strengths, whilst also paying special attention to the areas in which your need improvement. These classes may take online or in face-to-face classes at a physical Erican centre.   

The combination of these classes ensures that students will be able to deeply understand each learning point and master the given language for each unit. Lessons are module-based, with learning points presented systematically.  Progress is monitored via regularly scheduled evaluation activities. All levels also prepare students for the Cambridge Young Learners Exams (Starters, Movers, Flyers), allowing them to gain internationally recognized certificates.

Finally, all students of the EYLP programme are given regular training on storytelling, which will allow children to improve in terms of presentation skills, pronunciation, diction, and body language. They will also have a chance each year to take part in Erican’s annual storytelling contest, the Erican Cup.  This will allow them to eventually move on to giving speeches via Erican’s public speaking training when they are older.
